Harlow Marlow

GRAMMY® and Latin GRAMMY Award® winning pianist, producer, performer, composer and orchestra director, Marlow Rosado joins forces with one of salsa’s defining producers and iconic figures Larry Harlow for this explosive and long awaited collaboration.

Harlow Marlow Volume 1, a namesake melodic crusade devised to secure the legacy of “Salsa Dura” (hardcore Salsa). Was recorded in Marlow Rosado’s Miami studio. each of the album’s eight tracks were penned by Puerto Rican born Marlow

Rosado and co-produced with Latin music trailblazer, Larry Harlow, globally coined as “El Judio Maravilloso” (The Marvelous Jew), serves as a musical passing of the torch.

Marlow Rosado, who scored the 2013 GRAMMY AWARD® for Best Tropical Latin Album, and Harlow, also a GRAMMY® winner and a cornerstone of The Fania All-Stars, both explode on the ivories. The record steeped in the Afro-Cuban and Latin

jazz tradition, is highlighted with impressive hard salsa piano duets and seasoned with guest vocalists, including Luisito Rosario, who is featured on the first single.

Harlow’s dynamic composition complements the polyrhythmic and infectious style of Marlow’s colossal force. While Harlow is regarded as one of the most gifted Latin music pianists of all-time, Rosado undoubtedly forged a reputation as a legendary artist in his own right, having dedicated his life to inspiring audiences both young and mature to the stellar tunes of hardcore salsa. “I had a chance to collaborate with Larry Harlow on many stages and projects over the years. Harlow Marlow Volume 1 is my way of saying thank you for inspiring me, for what you’ve done for Latin

music and the opportunity for us to simply jam the way real salsa heads do, ” added Rosado, on working with his mentor, collaborator and friend.

Retro

January 3, 2023 by marlowrosado2022_admin

The sophomore album, the life changer, the album that would mark the biggest before and after moments of Rosado’s life. When Marlow Rosado set out to make his second album Retro, he had no idea the impact that this album would have not only on the industry but on his life. Marlow Rosado took some of the most notable and classic tracks from salsas golden era and reproduced them adding his own very unique twist. What makes this album special is that once the tracks were produced, Marlow reached out to the artist that originally recorded these songs and brought them back to be part of his new versions. Every artist, musician, and record executive that heard the album knew there was something very special about this body of work, but it was on February 10, 2013 that this record made its biggest noise solidify its place in the world of music when it won the Grammy for best tropical Latin album beating out the giant Romeo Santos. When asked, Rosado says, there will never be another moment like this one. In a split second I went from being a musician/producer to a Grammy award winning artist all with my sophomore album, my life changer, the album that would mark the biggest before and after moment in my life.

Los Colores de la Salsa

December 30, 2022 by marlowrosado2022_admin

The Dura Salsa, of the style and musical aggressiveness of the double GRAMMY® winner Marlow Rosado, merges with the sweet and unique voice of the romantic sauce of Frankie Negrón, in the album “Los Colores de la Salsa” This musical production is the result of the union of two totally opposite salseros in styles, since Frankie has been recognized worldwide for singing to make one fall in love while Marlow has produced his album as a true “Salsanimal” for the dancer. “It is time to defend the genre that we all love regardless of the musical style, but to promote the best of the best with excellent arrangements, musicians and first-rate voices,” said Marlow Rosado, producer, musician and person in charge of carrying out this great project. This union of Marlow and Frankie arose in a very natural way since both artists had already worked together on many occasions.

“Don’t mess around with salsa anymore… salsa is a good thing” thus begins this singular musical production that makes a call to reaffirm the special place that the so-called “Salsa Gorda” has but also highlights the voice of Salsa Romántica.

In the single “Depende De Ti”, which also has a music video, an alert is made highlighting the pillars of salsa of all times and also inviting new emerging talents, genres or musical styles to recognize, respect and care in brotherhood what with much sacrifice and years has been achieved.

Marlow Rosado is considered the last artist signed by the distinction and recognized by Fania Records, he has also been called “the Dalí of music”, since his hands at the piano are defined in the brushes with which he creates a world as surreal as the one embodied in canvases by the late painter. He has been compared to the North American jazz pianist Thelonious Monk and even to his idol Eddie Palmieri.

Among the songs that stand out in the production, there is the one that bears his name “Los Colores de la Salsa” a composition by Negrón and Rosado, where salsa and merengue are fused, there is also the cover of “Tu eres” original song by Frankie Ruiz, who has been the idol of Frankie Negrón.

Orun

March 4, 2015 by marlowrosado2022_admin

Salsanimal

Salsanimal

Album number 3 “SALSANIMAL” came at a very exciting moment in my life, I was just coming out of the Grammy win with my album Retro, so producing Salsanimal became very intense because I felt I had to do my best work ever since I knew all eyes would be on this album. Unlike retro, in this album Rosado wrote every song for the exception of “Ok Here’s The Truth” a song dedicated to cancer survivors and sang by the amazing John Secada in English. Rosado also invited a very eclectic group of artist such as Checo Acosta ( Colombia), Jon Secada (Cuban American), Cuban artist Mayito Rivera, Alex Matos (Dominican Republic), a very fiery and passionate piano battle with himself accompanied by two of Salsa‘s pioneer piano players Lary Harlow and Richie Ray. Salsanimal is an extremely fun album from start to end where Rosado shows why he is now a Grammy award winner. Here we see some of the most clever and strong salsa arrangements heard on an album of this magnitude in a very long time. But one of the most fun facts about this album is that it gave Marlow Rosado his new nickname. After this record was released, newspaper articles, magazines, DJs all around the country and the world started to refer to Marlow Rosado as the Salsanimal, a nickname that has followed him ever since.
